Sir Paul Smith, RDI, was born in Beeston, Nottingham on 5th July 1946. He is an English fashion designer, whose business and reputation is founded upon his menswear. He set up his first shop in Nottingham in 1970. He gradually expanded his retail business, being the first fashion brand to open on Floral Street in London's Covent Garden in 1979, where his shop offered an eclectic combination of clothes and 'finds' for men which reflected his own magpie personality. Since then Paul Smith has grown his collections to include jeans, shoes, watches and fragrance. Paul Smith fragrances are now bestselling perfumes worldwide with Paul Smith's collections wholesaled to thirty five countries and fourteen shops in England.
