Celine Dion the Canadian pop singer and occasional song writer was born in March 1968 in Charlemagne, Québec. She became a young star in francophone Canada and later gained recognition in parts of Europe and Asia, after winning the 1982 world popular song festival and 1988 eurovison. In 1990 she made her English language debut with Anglophone album unison. During the 1980s and 1990 she released over 25 albums, before announcing in 1999 that she would take a break to start a family. She returned to music in 2002 with a more mature sound and has gone on to perform nightly in the 5 star theatrical show at the coliseum, at Caesars palace, Las Vegas. In 2004 she received the chopard diamond award from the world music awards for becoming the best selling female pop artist in the world.
